Katy Triathlon at Firethorne

The 18th annual Katy Triathlon at Firethorne, formerly known as the Cinco Ranch Triathlon, will be held on Sunday, October 24, 2010. Racers can begin checking in at 5:30am – 7:15am and the race will begin at 7:30am. This race, the third largest co-ed triathlon in Texas, includes a 500 meter swim, a 16 mile bike ride, and a 3 mile run. The Katy Triathlon at Firethorne is a USA Triathlon sanctioned event sponsored by Pictures from the Katy Triathlon at Firethorne the Rotary Club of Katy.

This year’s goal is 1000 participants; 900 individual athletes plus those on relay teams. Proceeds from the race will go to the Katy Rotary Fund, which supports local charities. Registration is limited to 900 individuals and will continue through October 20. You can see the complete fee structure and deadlines on the Katy Triathlon website.

The cycling route will include sections of FM 1463 and US Highway 90, within the Katy city limits and the swim will be conducted in Lake Firethorne. Below are the swim and bike routes. Visit the Katy Triathlon website for updates as we near the event.
