Katy Area Home Values Continue to Stay Ahead of the Curve
August 2, 2010
The June numbers were met with a variety of cheers and boos. Sales dropped considerably from the previous month due in large part to the end of the Home Taxbuyer Credit. While sales numbers are a little behind, home values are on the rise. This is not to say that homes are not selling. I took a quick drive through my own neighborhood this past weekend and was happy to see lots of sold signs on homes that might normally sit for a while. There are still plenty of buyers in the marketplace; they just are not rushing to qualify for additional assistance as they were in April.
The median price of a home in the Houston area for June is $160,000 while the median price in Katy is just under $194,000. For the Houston region, sales were down 6.6%, which is a far cry from the national average of 32.7%. Click the link below to check out the numbers for yourself. You can see sales and pricing data for housing markets all accross the nation. And you can always call us at 281-398-2015 for real estate news and information. As always, I hope this helps.
